Hours: Part-time (20–35 hours/week); Some am shifts required.
Compensation: $8.00/hour + tips

We are currently seeking a Banquet Bartender who is enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to deliver a first-class experience to our guests. Whether working behind the bar at an elegant banquet or mixing a cocktail at Forge & Vine, you’ll play a key role in creating memorable experiences. We provide full training on our service standards and The Groton Inn experience.
Position Summary
As a Bartender and Banquet Bartender, you will support both restaurant and event operations. This role involves preparing and serving drinks, setting up and breaking down bar stations for events, and ensuring exceptional guest service at all times. You will work closely with our Banquet and Restaurant Managers, culinary teams, and fellow service professionals.
Key Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and provide prompt, professional service

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with recipes and guest preferences

Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout service

Assist with banquet bar setup, execution, and breakdown as outlined in Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)

Follow proper service techniques and responsible alcohol service policies

Engage with guests, answer questions about offerings, and suggest pairings or upsells when appropriate

Communicate clearly with kitchen and event staff to ensure seamless service

Address guest concerns promptly and professionally

Accurately handle payments, tips, and POS operations

Complete side duties including cleaning, restocking, and equipment maintenance

Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, including allergy and sanitation awareness

Support both Forge & Vine service and The Groton Inn event operations as needed
Required Qualifications
-
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
-
Prior food and beverage or bar experience preferred
-
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English
-
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
-
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks

Strong listening, observational, and interpersonal skills
-
Knowledge of common allergens and cross-contamination concerns (training provided)

Must be available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
