Description

The Devens Service Dog Trainer is responsible for assisting with Basic Obedience Training that aligns with our curriculum. Canine training is designed to provide support to Veterans by establishing a reliable relationship between Veterans and their canine companion that addresses each individual’s challenges. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about dogs & helping Veterans, is an organized self-starter, who also possesses excellent interpersonal skills

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and other Requirements

Experience in dog training/handling sufficient to perform successfully at an expert training level; a minimum of 5 years’ experience preferred. Experience conducting canine training classes.

Transport dogs and have the ability to travel locally as needed

Primarily Monday to Friday schedule with flexibility to work evenings and weekends to accommodate veteran needs and to assist with occasional events

Initial contract period runs through 9/30/24 with an opportunity to extend
