Job Summary
The Groton Inn is seeking a skilled Breakfast Cook to join our culinary team. This role supports the Banquet Chef in preparing and serving breakfast, ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation, and sanitation. The Breakfast Cook also assists with banquet preparation and next-day prep as needed.
Our daily breakfast includes a continental offering with fresh, house-baked pastries, alongside cooked items prepared to order. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and passionate about delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities

Take ownership of the breakfast service, ensuring a memorable guest experience.

Prepare and serve breakfast items, including house-made pastries.

Assist with banquet prep and occasional dinner service preparation.

Set up and break down the breakfast station daily.

Maintain strict standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistent quality.

Properly handle and store food items according to health and safety standards.

Minimize waste and monitor product usage

Communicate promptly with the Banquet Chef regarding anticipated issues.

Collect guest feedback during breakfast service and relay to the Banquet Chef.

Comply with all Health & Safety regulations and property policies.
Qualifications

Previous culinary and pastry experience required.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to handle pressure calmly and professionally.

Knowledge of food safety, allergens, and sanitation practices.

Comfortable working with standard kitchen equipment (knives, blenders, processors, stoves, griddles, fryers, etc.).

Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs and remain on your feet for the duration of the shift.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.
