Fidelity Bank donates $35,000 to support music, arts programs in Groton and Littleton
Funding to support outreach programs, educational programs and scholarships, community art
(Leominster, Mass.) Fidelity Bank announced its support of two North Central Massachusetts-based organizations dedicated to bringing music and art to the community.
Fidelity Bank pledged $30,000 to Indian Hill Music of Littleton (soon to be Groton Hill Music Center when the organization opens its new home in Groton) to support the center’s outreach programs and provide scholarships for students at public schools across Fidelity Bank’s service area, including Ayer/Shirley, Gardner, Fitchburg and Leominster. Funding was also made to support the Groton History Center Sense of Place project, which brings together an extended group of talented people in the community to create an inspired piece of art for a virtual exhibition.
“Our contributions to the communities where we work and live is something we take very seriously,” said Ed Manzi, Jr., Chairman and CEO, Fidelity Bank. “As part of our long-term commitment to help improve the quality of life of our clients, communities and colleagues, these donations to Indian Hill Music and the Groton History Center will expose students across our region to arts and culture. This includes professional music programming and education for students who might not otherwise have the chance to play an instrument, and the opportunity for the community to enjoy outstanding works of art created by their neighbors.”
Indian Hill Music is a thriving regional non-profit center for music education, performance and community outreach for everyone to be able to experience the transformative power of music. The center currently serves 79 communities in Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.
“We are grateful for the generous support of Fidelity Bank to bring the joy of music to youth in the communities they serve,” said Lisa Fiorentino, CEO, Indian Hill Music. “Giving the gift of music is the heart and soul of our organization. This support will provide free music lessons, string programs, need-based scholarships, and performing opportunities to youth across our shared service area.”
The Groton History Center shares Groton’s history through historical programs that cover a wide range of topics as well as assistance to genealogical researchers and educational tours of historical landmarks in the town.
“The Groton History Center is thrilled with Fidelity Bank's continued commitment to our mission of sharing the history of our local communities,” said Kara Fossey, Executive Director, Groton History Center. “Their generous donation supporting our ‘Sense of Place’ exhibition and book project has allowed us to celebrate some of the Nashoba Valley's greatest artists of the past and present. Fidelity Bank's roots stretch back to the 19th century and their care of-and investment in-community is certainly still evident in their generosity today.”
The donations are supported by the Fidelity Bank LifeDesign Community Dividend, a program that distributes financial support to local community organizations, events and causes.
