Habitat for Humanity North Central Massachusetts receives a $50, 000 grant from Lowe’s to repair hom

(Leominster, MA) December 12, 2024 –Habitat for Humanity North Central Massachusetts received a $50,000 grant to help repair homes in Fitchburg, Leominster, Athol, Gardner and Winchendon.
 
With the support of this grant, Habitat for Humanity North Central Massachusetts performed critical home repairs, installing a ramp to a home in Fitchburg, a roof in Fitchburg, installing grab bars in bathroom, replacing sliding glass door and repairing front step in Leominster and a roof in Athol
 
“This funding allowed us to help families and maintain the crucial existing affordable housing stock in our region. “stated Habitat NCM Executive Director Carolyn Read. “We are very grateful to Lowe’s for helping us to help local families be safe, warm and secure
 
The funding from Lowe’s is part of a two-year, $6 million donation to Habitat for Humanity International to support home repair and preservation efforts in owner-occupied homes. Through this partnership, more than 75 local Habitat affiliates will complete more than 480 projects this year to address critical health and safety issues in homes across the U.S. Since 2003, Lowe’s and Habitat have worked together to help more than 18,000 people build or improve a place to call home.
