“Discovery Soundbites” bring together expert perspectives on topics important for kids and families in a very short, digestible format
Acton, MA – Discovery Museum today announced the launch of “Discovery Soundbites,” a series of short-form interviews with a range of experts on topics that impact kids and families, available in video and audio podcast formats. Each Soundbite asks the same three questions of each speaker, who respond from their area of expertise to bring perspective to the opportunities and issues that impact our communities.
Discovery Soundbites is the evolution of the Discovery Museum Speaker Series, which over 12 years presented more than 60 expert speakers via 60- to 90-minute in-person or live webinar events. The revamp of the series into short-form delivery is designed to be responsive to changing times, involve more speakers, and honor the new ways people seek and consume information.
“Discovery Museum is uniquely positioned to engage thought leaders in a variety of fields—including emerging science research, child development, and accessibility to parent and child mental health, nature play, caregiver support, and more—and bring these expert voices to parents and caregivers in a useful and digestible way,” said Discovery Museum CEO Marie Beam. “By offering Discovery Soundbites in varied formats on multiple platforms, we hope to simplify and streamline for parents their access to these important perspectives.”
The Museum has released the first seven Soundbites, available in video format on the Museum’s website and YouTube channel, and as audio podcasts on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and more. The initial slate of interviews includes:
- Dr. Tony Rao, Psychologist and Author, “Do less. Kids are resilient.”
- Chris Singleton, Children’s Book Author and Inspirational Speaker, “Love is enough.”
- Christofer Nelson, President & CEO, ASTC, “The real skills kids need”
- Dr. Kevin Nugent, Founder, Brazelton Institute at Boston Children’s Hospital, “The critical importance of the first 3 years”
- Linda Nathan, Lecturer, Harvard Graduate School of Education, “Helping others lead lives of dignity”
- Valora Washington, CEO & President, The CAYL Institute, “Setting the tone for kids”
- Linda Booth Sweeney, Author and Founder, Toggle Labs for Kids, “Looking at interconnections”
New Discovery Soundbites will be released on a regular basis.
Discovery Soundbites are sponsored by Enterprise Bank.
