We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being in various settings, including home care, group homes, and nursing facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and demonstrate a commitment to promoting independence and dignity for those they assist.

Duties

  • Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Provide meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
  • Medication Reminders as prescribed and monitor client health conditions.
  • Support clients with mobility and physical activities to enhance their physical well-being.
  • Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional support.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Document client progress and report any changes in health or behavior to appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans tailored to individual needs.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in home health, nursing home, or group home settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of social work principles and practices is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to perform medication administration accurately and responsibly.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules while maintaining professionalism at all times.
