| Mike Block and Balla Kouyaté Band Friday, November 18 at 8:00pm Meadow Hall at Groton Hill Balla Kouyaté (balafon/vocals) and Mike Block (cello) – both members of the renowned Silkroad Ensemble – have been collaborating for over a decade, bonding over their shared interest in global music. Their six-piece band, with friends from America and West Africa, creates an exciting fusion of musical styles, and features Sidy Maiga (djembe/vocals), Idrissa Kone (talking drum/calabash/percussion/ vocals), Luke Okerlund (electric guitar), and Mike Rivard (bass/sintir). |
