The Gibbet Hill property boasts a diverse wildlife habitat which is attracts an assortment of wildlife. The open grasslands, wetlands, and forest on the property are enticing to many birds. Throughout the year Gibbet Hill Farm is host to over 60 species of birds: some birds call the farm 'home' all year long, for a larger portion of species, the farm is their breeding grounds during the warmer spring/summer months, and some visiting birds are just passing through (we're looking at you, Tennessee warbler).
Late Spring is a wonderful time to observe birds on the farm. We invite you to join us on May 29th to learn about the farm's role in the varying bird life on the Gibbet Hill Farm and to stroll the property with us to see which bird species turn up*.
This workshop is geared towards beginners, but birdwatchers of all levels are welcome. Binoculars are recommended.
At the end of the bird walk, snacks will be provided.
The bird walk will be led by Webber Restaurant Group marketing director and experienced birder, Amy Severino and Gibbet Hill Farm and a member of the farm team.
The class may be postponed if weather is inclement, check your email the day before, for confirmation. Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather, and wear shoes appropriate for the weather and sturdy enough for walking in and around the farm.
*Please note, due to the nature of this event, there is no guarantee of how many species we will see, however a typical spring morning walk can yield 5-20 different species depending on spring migration patterns, recent weather, etc.
