Public Policy Series sponsored by Mt. Wachusett Community College
We will be joined by Ryan Flynn of the The Massachusetts Business Alliance for Education (MBAE). They are a 30-year-old organization created because the business community recognizes that an excellent public education system is the foundation of a sound and equitable economy. Their members, and 36 affiliated chambers of commerce and trade associations work together to promote state policy that drives continuous improvement in our schools and ensures that every student receives a high quality education that prepares them for success in college, career and citizenship. MBAE will share its effort to monitor how school re-openings have proceeded this year and preview a 2021 business-led policy agenda on career and college readiness and equity in education funding and outcomes.
We have had so many great questions about the election, upcoming elections, ballot counting, mail in voting, ballot security and others that we decided to go right to the source. Our second speaker will be Susan Copeland, Town Clerk in Ayer.
First elected as Town Clerk and Tax Collector for Ayer in 2014, elected as Treasurer in 2016 and was appointed as Town Clerk in 2017 under a government reorganization act. Holds certifications for Tax Collector and Treasurer, as well as, Municipal Clerk in Massachusetts. Lifelong resident of Ayer for 44 years. Proud wife of Air Force Veteran and bragging mother of 3 awesome kids.
