The ballot initiative process gives citizens a way to propose laws and constitutional amendments without the support of the Governor or the Legislature. While the pros and cons of this process can (and have been) debated, Massachusetts residents have decisions to make on this years ballot initiatives.
Sometimes voting yes means you are NOT in favor of a ballot initiative. Makes sense. Join us on Tuesday October 25th to learn more about each ballot initiative – hopefully helping you clarify your position on these very important issues.
This year's initiatives are:
- QUESTION 1: Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (Additional Tax on Income Over One Million Dollars)
- Yes on 1: Guest speaker: Andrew Farnitano, Fair Share Massachusetts
- No on 1: Guest speaker DJ Cence/Maddie Clair, Coalition to Stop the Tax Hike
- QUESTION 2: Law Proposed by Initiative Petition (Regulation of Dental Insurance
- Yes on 2: Guest speaker: TBA, Massachusetts Dental Society
- No on 2: pending response
- QUESTION 3: Law Proposed by Initiative Petition (Expanded Availability of Licenses for the Sale of Alcoholic Beverages)
- Yes on 3: Guest speaker: Robert Mellion, 21st Century Alcohol Retail Reform Committee
- No on 3: pending response
- Question #4 - Eligibility for Driver’s Licenses
